Privacy Policy

How STEMBridge Learning Academy collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information — including information about the students we teach — under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Last updated: 4 August 2026

STEMBridge Learning Academy (“STEMBridge”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy and your family’s privacy. This policy explains what personal information we handle when you visit stembridgeacademy.ca, book a trial class, enroll a student, or contact us, and the choices you have. We follow the ten fair information principles set out in PIPEDA.

1. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to personal information about our students, parents and guardians, prospective families, website visitors and business contacts that STEMBridge collects in the course of operating the academy. It does not apply to third-party websites we may link to, which have their own privacy practices.

STEMBridge is accountable for the personal information under its control, including information transferred to third parties who perform services on our behalf. Our founder and director, Ahsan Raza, is responsible for overseeing our compliance with this policy.

2. What personal information we collect

We only collect information we need to teach your child well and run the academy. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

  • Parent / guardian contact details — name, email address, phone number, and mailing address.
  • Student details — first name, grade level, school (where relevant to placement), and program or subject interests.
  • Enrollment & scheduling details — trial class bookings, program and format selections, class schedules, and attendance.
  • Progress information — instructor notes and progress updates directly related to the student’s coursework.
  • Billing details — for term enrollment, the contact and payment information needed to invoice a parent or guardian.
  • Website and technical data — basic, non-identifying information such as pages viewed and general device or browser type, where applicable (see Cookies & analytics below).

We do not collect medical or health information, and we do not sell your personal information or your child’s.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate to running a tutoring academy, including to:

  • respond to enquiries and book trial classes;
  • place a student in the right program, level and schedule;
  • deliver classes, whether in person or online, and share progress with a parent or guardian;
  • administer term enrollment, invoicing and makeup classes;
  • send you information you have asked for and, where permitted, occasional program updates; and
  • meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.

We identify the purposes for which information is collected at or before the time of collection. If we ever want to use your information for a new purpose, we will ask for your consent first.

4. Children’s & student information

Because most of our students are minors, a parent or guardian registers the student and manages the account. We collect only the student information needed to teach and place a child appropriately — typically a first name, grade and program interest — and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child without a parent or guardian’s involvement. Progress notes are shared with the registering parent or guardian, not published or shared publicly.

We collect, use and disclose personal information with the knowledge and consent of the parent or guardian (or of an adult student), except where the law permits or requires otherwise. By booking a trial class, enrolling a student, or sending us an enquiry, you consent to us using the information provided for the purposes described above.

You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting us using the details below. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer continue teaching or communicating with your family.

6. When we disclose information

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We may share it only as needed to run the academy or as required by law, for example with:

  • the instructor(s) directly teaching your child;
  • payment processors, accountants and other service providers who act on our behalf under confidentiality obligations; and
  • authorities or advisors where disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law.

When we engage service providers, we use contractual or other means to provide a comparable level of protection while the information is being processed on our behalf.

7. How long we keep it

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected and to meet legal, accounting and tax requirements. When information is no longer needed, we securely destroy, erase or anonymise it.

8. How we protect it

We protect personal information with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, including limiting who can access student records, using secure handling of digital records, and training instructors on appropriate use of student information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep our safeguards current.

9. Accuracy, access and correction

We keep personal information as accurate, complete and up to date as necessary for the purposes for which it is used. A parent or guardian may ask what personal information we hold about their family, how it is used, and request a correction. We will respond within a reasonable time and, where a request is refused, explain why. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

10. Cookies & analytics

This is a lightweight, largely static website. It does not require you to create an account or accept tracking cookies to browse. The contact form does not transmit data to our servers — when you submit it, it simply opens a pre-filled message in your own email application, which you then choose to send. If we introduce optional analytics or cookies in future, we will update this policy and, where required, seek your consent.

11. Contact, questions & complaints

If you have a question, want to access or correct your family’s information, or wish to make a complaint about how we handle personal information, please contact us:

We will acknowledge and investigate all complaints. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, which oversees compliance with PIPEDA.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The current version is always posted on this page with its effective date. Material changes will be highlighted where appropriate.

This policy is provided for general information and does not constitute legal advice.
